KBPS students discuss and interview each other about the PPS Rightsizing plans to close up to 14 local schools. Students share their stories about which schools they attended and their memories of those schools. We hear from students who attended schools that are being proposed to be closed. Also, one KBPS student attended the PPS Board Meeting where the Rightsizing plans were unveiled and shares that experience. Finally, we learn more about the KBPS senior class of 2027 as they conduct interviews with classmates with fun questions and ask about the positive changes they want to see happen in the world. 

 

As Portland Public Schools continues exploring the proposed Rightsizing school closures, the District is inviting students, families, educators and community members to participate in upcoming conversations, to ask questions and to share their perspectives. During the month of October, PPS is offering several opportunities to engage. Including new School Impact Conversations focused on schools identified for potential closure or reconfiguration. The Superintendent will connect with school communities directly impacted by the proposed closures. These conversations provide an opportunity for the community to discuss what the proposed changes could mean for their schools.
