ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
How to Report Absences
At Benson Polytechnic High School, parents and guardians can report current and future absences through ParentVUE.
Important: Per district policy, parents/guardians must clear unexcused absences within 3 school days (72 hours) of the absence. Absences not cleared within this timeframe will remain unexcused.
Report a Current or Future Absence
The easiest way to report a current or future absence is through ParentVUE. You can use ParentVUE on a computer or through the mobile app.
Note: You cannot report an absence using a mobile browser. Please use the ParentVUE mobile app.

Log In
Log in to ParentVUE. In the mobile app, select the blue Report Absence button. On the website, select Attendance and then Report Absence.

Select the Absence Type
Choose All Day, Arrive Late, Leave Early, or specific class periods.

Select the Date
Select the start date and, if needed, the end date.

Select a Reason
Select the appropriate reason from the drop-down menu.

Add a Note
Add any additional information that may be helpful.

Save Your Report
Click SAVE. You should receive a confirmation pop-up once the absence has been submitted.
Early Pickup
If you need to pick up your student early, please submit the release time through ParentVUE.
Please provide at least 30 minutes' notice whenever possible so we have enough time to locate and release your student.
We are unable to reliably locate students during Flex and Lunch, so early dismissals during these times may not be possible.
For safety and to minimize disruptions to instruction, students will not be dismissed during the first 10 minutes or last 10 minutes of a class period.
Past Absences
If an absence was not reported in advance, parents/guardians may excuse the absence within 3 school days (72 hours) by contacting the Benson Attendance Office.
Please include the parent/guardian name, student name, student ID number, date of absence, type of absence, and any additional information regarding the absence.

If your student was present but marked absent by a teacher or substitute, the student should speak directly with their teacher to have the attendance corrected.
The 72-hour deadline does not apply to teacher corrections.
Athletic Absences
For Benson PIL sports, please do not submit an absence through ParentVUE. The Athletic Office will handle attendance.
Club sports and non-PIL sports can be excused through ParentVUE.
